Work continues on the Deerfield Road Reconstruction Project as the contractor prepares to move traffic to the new south lanes.
Deerfield Road East of Waukegan Road
This evening, the northbound right turn lane at Waukegan Road will re-open to traffic. This Sunday, the contractor will switch traffic to the newly paved southern lanes. The lane configuration west of Waukegan Road will be altered to align with the east end changes.
Once traffic is switched, the contractor will complete the remaining underground work on the north side and start pavement removal at the Carriage Way bridge moving west, toward Waukegan Road. The contractor will increase the number of crews working during the day and cease night operations, for now. They plan to start excavation work in the northern lanes immediately following the switch over and anticipate pouring concrete in mid-November.
All ramps on and off Route 41 are open and will remain open until late October.
