Contractor Prepares to Pave, Left Turn Lanes Closed at Waukegan Road

The contractor expects to finish excavation next week and may start pouring concrete by the end of the week, weather depending. Trick-or-Treaters are asked to avoid construction areas and be aware of their surroundings at all times. The contractor has been instructed to not perform any work that will reduce traffic to one lane on November 8 to reduce traffic impacts for voters on election day.

Next week in Deerfield, the left turn lanes at Waukegan Road will be closed, as the temporary pavement currently in place east of Waukegan Road will be removed to make way for the final pavement. A subcontractor performing the sidewalk brick paving will start next week and is expected to take about two weeks to restore all downtown sidewalks.

In Highland Park, the work on Deerfield Road that impacted access to the ramp from eastbound Deerfield Road to southbound Route 41 has been completed and the ramp has been reopened. Next week, construction will impact access to two ramps starting Monday, October 31, 2016. The first closure will impact access from southbound Route 41 to Deerfield Road and access from Old Skokie Road to Deerfield Road. The second closure will impact access from eastbound Deerfield Road to northbound Route 41. These ramps are scheduled to reopen on Nov. 10th.
